Our son

We just wanted to let everyone know that we will be having another boy next month. we are all very excited about this. Dylan is happy he will finally have a brother but i don't think he quite understands how much of an age gap there will be.

Last Week of Schhol

This week is the last week of school for the children so it will be very busy. Lots of honors days and final parent teacher conferences. Whittni had her awards day a few weeks ago. She got awards for being on honor roll, having the highest grade in Literature for her team which has about 90 kids on it and an award from the retired Georgia Teachers Ass for leadership and teamwork. We are very proud of her. Dylan is still playing t-ball although he mainly just stands in the field kicking dirt and biting his fingers. He seems to enjoy it. Riley is going to an AR picnic today, which is to celebrate her achievements in reading and then taking tests on what she has read. She finally seems to have grasped reading this year and is really enjoying it. Aubry seems to have a lot to say lately and loves to run around naked. She also loves to take off her diaper so i think its time to potty train her. We have a doctor's appointment next week and will have an ultrasound so hopefully we'll know if the kids will get their wish and get a brother or if we will be blessed with another girl. We hope everyone is going to have a great summmer

I am going to try and keep this going so here is another entry. There is not much to say. Whittni had her final band concert on thursday since she does not want to be in band next year. She played well. Riley and Dylan each went on a field trip with their class. I took the girls to Augusta on saturday to get them some summer clothes. It is getting hard to find modest dresses for my older girls. Riley lost another tooth, which she is happy about because the dentist wanted to pull it and another one because her adult ones are coming in and there's no room. She needs to go to the orthodontist to have her mouth expanded, which should be fun. That's all for now.

i guess i will try again

I am not really a computer person, but i will try again to write in this blog. I guess i am just busier than ever before and can't do as much as i want to. In march i was called as the YW pres in our branch. right now i only have on counselor and we have 8 to 11 active girls, so there is alot of work to do. At the end of march i discovered i was pregnant. we are very excited, but a little overwhelmed by this news. I have never been more busy in my life since we moved to this small town, some weeks either michael or i are gone every night, so adding a baby to this will be intersting. I am due in mid october, which makes Riley happy since she will no longer have the last birthday in the family.

Michael is having a great time in YM, he loves being the scoutmaster, it is the perfect job for him, it just means lots of time away from us. He recently spent 3 days in Savannah at Wood badge training, i think the guys had a great time acting like teenagers again. He also enjoys being 1st counselor in YM, but the pres is gone a lot so he seems to have more work to do than he should. Just yesterday we had branch council and we both had to go, luckily we live close enough that he took the kids home and whittni watched them so that we didn't have to keep them after church for 2 hours. He is really looking forward to scout camp this summer.

Both of us being in the youth programs does pose challenges though, we can't both go to everything since on of use needs to stay with our family, but we'll figure it out. I guess after october, i won't be doing much for a while anyway.

We spent the week of spring break in rolla visiting my family. the kids went to the zoo and the magic house in st louis with my parents so that michael and i could go to the temple. We had a great time. we were fortunate to not be in town when the tornado hit, it came through about 1 1/2 miles south of our home, a little too close for my liking. we only lost power for about 24 hours, but we were only home for 3 of them. the kids were complaining because they couldn't watch tv, so we took some of them for a ride down the road to show them the uprooted trees and broken telephone poles and this old shack that was demolished. they soon stoped complaining.

The kids will be done with school in 4 weeks, i'm not ready for that. We still don't have many neighbors and there are no kids besides them. that's all for now, i will try to write more often.

I thought I would finally join most of the world and start a blog so that our family and friends could see the happenings of our lives. I am not very good with computers, so don't expect too much.

I guess I could start this off by saying that Whittni got straight A's on her report card this quarter, Riley and Dylan don't get grades, but they did very well also. Aubry is still enjoying her alone time during the day. She is very good at amusing herself, which is good for me so I can get some work done. Tomorrow Dylan will be having a celebration at his school for the 100th day, he is very excited. Riley has begun the count down until she is 8. Today she said it's 10 months left mom, in February it will be 9. She is looking forward to going to Activity Day Girls.

Here is a recent picture of the children, Aubry didn't want to stay for the picture, so Whittni had to hold here there. I don't know what else to add, I will try to update twice a week.
